| Allen and Amy Weikert are continuing a tradition that dates back to the pre-Revolutionary war period. In 1952 Allen's father built an egg production facility and began selling eggs wholesale, retail, and door-to-door. Chickens on the Weikert Farm live a life much different from those on large industrial plants. "Our chickens can walk freely within their rooms. They are free to roost, eat, and drink as they please. They also receive daylight, something other chickens never see in their entire lifetime." --Allen R. Weikert Allen Weikert uses the farming methods that have been passed down over many generations. While technology has allowed crops to be planted and harvested faster than in the old days, the principles and practices that his father and grandfather used are still in place today. |
